Description of accommodation
Facilities
The main house is equipped with a kitchen with cooker, oven, fridge and small freezer, bathroom with toilet, sink and shower and has a living room, bedroom and outside terrace at its entrance. It comfortably sleeps four. All pillows, bedlinen, sheets and towels are provided.
The house is part of a group of houses and dwellings which cover 5 acres. There is a large, covered summer terrace that overlooks the river, hills and village and can be used for relaxing or for meal time. Next to the terrace is a large outdoor grill and another seating area with sun loungers. There is also a small orchard with a variety of fruit and a vegetable garden. In the main garden, there is a swing, a slide and a see-saw for children.
What to do
In Zaeok Zabava you can do as much (or more likely) as little as you like. For those who are more adventurous, the village is surrounded by beautiful forest trails and hill walks with wonderful scenery. You can also do mountain hikes around the village with our local expert guide – a member of our family who has lived in the village for decades. For those visitors who would like to take part in some elements of rural and farming life, there are a number of projects around the village that they can get involved in.
The river Zabava runs through the village and is perfect for fishing, swimming and paddling. There is a lot to explore around the village and nearby in the hills and mountains if you wish and Tmuša Cave is nearby.
Most people who come and visit us come to relax! We believe you have everything you need here to do just that but away from the bustle of city life and in comfort – right in the heart of the unspoilt Serbian countryside.

Location / How to get her Zaseok Zabava is situated about 20 minutes drive from the Serbian town of Valjevo in Western Serbia. Zabava lies on the river of the same name and is a small, picturesque old farming village that is nestled in the Divčibare and Maljen mountains. It can be reached by car on the Valjevo-Užice road or by train from Belgrade Central (Beograd Centar) within two hours – the station is called Lastra. Alternatively, we can arrange transport for you from Belgrade.

This is a great place to come if you want to truly get away from it all. The scenery is lovely and the village is really off the beaten track. Having said that, you still have everything you need to be comfortable and to relax! In the house there's a kitchen with fridge, oven and hobs and a good shower with plenty of hot water for after you've been out all day walking! There is also a lovely, big, covered outside terrace and sitting area with a great view, as well as a barbecue/grill! Marko and Ema (the hosts) were so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Also their uncle knows the area inside out and can show you where to explore (and if you understand Serbian) tell you about the bear he recently saw. Really recommend coming overnight or for the weekend to see how a really small Serbian village is! You can explore and hike (if you want) or just completely relax.
