Description of accommodation
It was in the autumn of 1980 when I spent my first night in the ”new” Big House of Čolović and found the beauty of its calm and positive energy that had always connected nature and life. In those days, the former hall that occupied the centre of the house had two large windows and two doors, and was used only for wedding, baptism and funeral occasions; people entered this hall very quietly when they had the real need of it, like in a case of bringing the grandpa something from his hunting closet.
Its walls were painted in blue plums and vine. It was rich yet not overfurnished, containing mirrors, crystal lamps, a chandelier, a round table with Grandpa’s trophies placed in the middle of the room, carved chairs with leather seating, benches along the wlls that were covered by carpets. One of the first Singer sewing machine, along with old photos in wooden frames hanging on the walls brought back the the memories of strength and power of the family that had built the house.
Thuja, constantly green and leaning on the old window was the symbol of life. Leafless trees, quinces, pumpkin and cucumber seeds, decorating dark window frames gave only the hints of the smells; linden was silently swinging in the middle of the yard, saying farewell to its yellow leaves...
We have revived and enriched this paradise because of its authentic beauty, for generations that are to come...
